Change Happens One Person at a Time.
On Sat 15th November 2008 in Washington USA some of the heads of world governments will hold a fancy word party with the current credit crisis as the theme. Gordon Brown is one of the attendees at this beano and I wonder how many of his fancy words will be for his new world vision. Mr Brown has given a number of speeches on his vision for a new world order and I can’t help wonder if his new world vision is not his old Saturn in fancy dress.
It will be a brave politician who actually supports a new way of doing things and is Gordon brave or does he just talk new while thinking old. Saturn is about supporting the status quo and seeking safety and security from what has gone before. Much better to build a high wall of security guards, motor cavalcades and 5* hotels to keep a scary new world locked out rather than invite the cosmic rebel Uranus to the party.
Another thing I wonder is how much change from the old Saturnian ways do we the people really want. Saturn can be very much like a comfy old pair of trainers, a little down at the heel and a bit leaky when it rains and that new pair of Uranian 7” killer heels look cool but could you really walk in them.
Of course you never know until you try them. That’s the thing about Uranus you never know how it will pan out. Maybe with a bit of practice those killer heels will be the best thing you can imagine to have on your feet. I can’t think of a new pair of shoes that a guy might want but the principal of change is the same.
We can see the credit crunch as something we have to get through until the economic cycle changes and the merry go round starts again or we can take the opportunity to have some fundamental change in our personal approach to money and possessions and scale back the wants and work out what really is needed for a happy healthy existence and find a balance between them. Constant change is a pain and the thing with an opposition is to balance the poles and find the best in both.
As the economy slows down take the chance to slow down and smell the flowers. No politician of the current crop is going to tell us to do that. They are too scared we might start to enjoy a more sustainable life style and then where would their chums in the corporate sector be?
Uranus is about being different, thinking and acting differently. If we want the world to change then change has to happen one person at a time and then maybe the type of politician we get will change also. That might be optimistic and that’s a function of Jupiter and that’s a tale for another day.
