Huber Astrology is the brain child of the astrologers Bruno and Louise Huber. It has been practiced in Switzerland and Germany for over 40 years and has astrological consultants and schools teaching the Huber method around the world. It is run under the banner of the API in the United Kingdom where it has been established for 25 years.
The Birth Chart
One of the most innovative of its approaches is found in the manner in which the chart is drawn. It is the most simple and colourful of the many ways in which birth charts are drawn. The chart is drawn in such a way it engages the creative process of both the owner of the chart and the consultant astrologer. For examples of the chart visit the section Astrology in Action where you will find brief introductions to chart reading.
Three Charts
In the practice of Huber Astrology three charts can be utilised.
Birth Chart Shows what the individual comes into this world equipped with. This can be understood as the inherited nature.
House Chart Indicates how the life motivation, shown by the birth chart, is altered by the world in which the individual lives. This, in short, is our nurture. From this view point it becomes possible to understand some of the differences between nature and nurture.
Node Chart This chart is concerned with the past of the individual and holds many clues as to why one acts and thinks in specific ways. The roots of much of the unconscious patterns of being and behaviour can be discovered from studying this particular chart.
Innovative Techniques
Huber Astrology has many techniques which are unique to this method of astrology. Amongst them is the Family Model this shows the possible relationship of a child to the parents in an easily understood way. Another of the techniques employed is Dynamic Quadrants which show how an individual thinks and also how teams of people can be put together to greater advantage by understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals and how they work in a team setting. Huber Astrologers also have another trick at their disposal when it comes to relationships. By using what is termed Click Charts the areas of harmony or where a relationship clicks are shown along with the possible areas of growth within the relationship.
Finally
I have written this article from the point of view of giving a brief introduction to my personal practice of astrology. For any who are interested in discovering more of this fascinating method I can recommend “The Cosmic Egg Timer” written by Joyce Hopewell and Richard Llewellyn. This well written and interesting book serves as an introduction to Huber Astrology.
