Looking at the chart, the image which comes to mind is of a megaphone or trumpet with a mute at the bottom. It looks as if the mute is missing a piece on one side. The mouth piece of the trumpet or megaphone is at the very top of the chart, close to M.C. With the mouth piece at the top of the chart giving the impression he talks to the electorate rather than talking for them.

Having most of his planets in the lower half of the chart it could well be he has a great affinity to the electorate. However may be when he speaks out the corner of his mouth (the missing piece of the mute) what you think you hear is not actually what is being said. His high poll rating, at this time, suggests he may, in fact, articulate the wishes and hopes of the Scottish people. Having the Moon and Mars forming the mouth piece shows he can be forceful (Mars) and passionately emotional (Moon) when he is speaking or perhaps trumpeting his cause. 

Colour Balance
The colour balance of 2 red 3 green and 6 blue suggests Alex is more of a bit more of a thinker, green, than doer, red. No doubt he spends a lot of his time thinking how he can further his cause for an independent Scotland while dreaming up ways he can get under the skin of his political opponents.

Aspect Figures
The aspects form a couple of very interesting shapes which go a long way to show the inner motivation that drives Mr Salmond from the depth of his being. These figures are made up of other smaller shapes giving the impression there is more to Alex than just a politician. He has a great interest in horse racing and had a weekly column in one of the Scottish newspapers which would suggest he is not solely a policy wonk.

Representative Square
This is formed by the planets Jupiter Uranus Pluto Venus and Moon It is said of this shape that what you see is what you get, which is very likely a rare thing in a politician. Someone who has this shape in their chart defends an idea or a political trend with all their heart and soul. In this case it appears to be very much so, Alex has been a mouthpiece for an independent Scotland since becoming a member of his party.

Oscilator
Formed with most of the same planets as the other shape but with the inclusion of Neptune rather than Venus.
 
A possible manifestation of the energy in this shape can be that other people find it hard to get along with the owner of such a figure. As the name would suggest he may oscillate from side to side making it very hard for his political opponents to pin down. Also they might not be hearing what is coming out from the missing part of the mute or the side of his mouth.
As this is the side which has Neptune at the missing piece this is what could make it difficult to discern with any accuracy what he is in fact saying.
It can be a difficult task getting a grasp on the energy which Neptune represents. It can be likened to trying to see through mist, maybe this is what dealing with Alex is like for his political adversaries.
