Charts drawn for the equinox and solstice give a background to the events unfolding over the year. Here is the chart for the spring equinox. It's not all doom and gloom, read on and find out why.

Astrologers use charts drawn for the solstices and the equinoxes to obtain an insight into what the coming year may bring. As the Spring Equinox is the first of the four charts of the equinoxes and solstices for 2009 it can be seen to lay the foundations for the year ahead. Not only can light be thrown on a world perspective it can also point out trends which are of a more personal nature. Huber Astrology is not an astrological method primarily used for forecasting, it can, however, be used to give an indication of the psychological background to the timing of the chart.

To catch a glimpse of the psychology of the chart, the image the aspects make gives a good starting point. An image emerging from the aspect lines gives the impression of a stopper for a wine bottle. The sides of the stopper are made from the aspects between Uranus/Mercury on one side and the other side the Moon while Saturn forms the point at the bottom. The blue lines, formed by the planets Mars/Pluto and Venus/Node make up the handles where pressure is applied to either push the stopper down into the bottle or pull it out. This pressure places Saturn under pressure as the pressure for constriction or release builds up. As Saturn is not the planet doing the pushing or the pulling, whichever way the pressure is applied, Mr. Saturn is going to feel it. Imagine pulling a stopper out of a bottle, the suction can make it seem the contents are reluctant to let go.

Another pointer is the colour balance of the aspect lines, in this chart blue is the majority colour with a balance of green thinking energy. Blue is a pretty cool and static colour while red is the colour of activity and heat. The chart is giving the impression of thinking and cool reflection on how life is going to pan out for ourselves and waiting to see what happens before becoming active.

Saturn in this instance becomes the tension ruler of the chart, meaning the influence or attributes of Saturn dominate the chart. Saturn represents the part of our personality which acts as a gatekeeper whose mission is to keep the bad man from entering our lives. Saturn builds up walls and maps out boundaries between oneself and the outer world. Its mission is to keep us safe. “Be careful, take care” is the voice of Saturn. In short it is our internal security systems. Fortunately at this moment there is enough blue surrounding Saturn to stop him going to red alert.

We are probably all aware of how the outer world is impacting on each of us at the moment, unless you have been living on a desert island for the last couple of years. The chart for the Spring Solstice is reflecting these events very clearly. There is a lot of pressure on our feelings of security and every time the television is switched or a news paper is opened it is reinforced. The opposition between Saturn and Mercury shows this very clearly. Mercury is our communicator and fact gatherer and unfortunately the facts being broadcast are anything but happy or constructive. Uranus the planet sitting side by side with Mercury is the part of us which is innovative and looks at new ways of being and solving problems.

It is however joined to Saturn with a dotted line. This means the conversation between Uranus and Saturn is like one of those annoying phone calls when you can hear but can’t be heard. At the moment Uranus can hear Saturn asking for ways of getting out of the mess but Saturn can’t hear the answers and advice coming down the line.

When the Moon is added into this, it is connected to the other three by the blue lines which make up a triangular figure called an Ambivalence Triangle, it brings with it an emotional response. The Moon is our emotions, our inner child and out contact mechanism. As it is blue lines that are attached to it we are not getting too worked up nor is our thinking too emotional at present. In fact the emotional response of the majority of us to the present circumstance is pretty laid back. I don’t get the feeling we will be taking to the streets in the next couple of months. We are too preoccupied with trying to work out what to do as this is new territory we are travelling in. Hopefully before this ambivalence passes we will see progress being made to sort out some of the stuff happening just now. I wouldn't count on it
that's a personal thought
.
As the two handles of the stopper are blue it is another indication we are still approaching the times in a pretty laid back manner. You can draw your own conclusions as to what might be happening if red was the predominate colour in the chart. The handle with Venus and the Node shows us there is a window of opportunity (Node) in which we can sort out our comfort levels and personal finances (Venus) with the chance to discover what we really need to have a comfortable life. The other handle, Pluto and Mars, which are both very active and can be on the destructive side, is telling us we have to change before we are forced into changing our behavior. At the moment it is probably not too late to instigate change with out to much turmoil and trauma. However the very fact they are there means we are going to have to change our life styles before being forced to do so. Mars is the God of War, our inner warrior and inner force of bravery, it is Mars which gives action and power to our will. Pluto’s power is regenerative, encapsulating the idea of the cycle of birth and death. It represents our ability to face and deal with crisis and, ultimately our ability to regenerate in different ways.

Of course it looks and feels bad but out of chaos comes opportunity. The events of the heavens are a once in an age opportunity to improve human life on our planet. Is it possible we are being given this window in time to discover how much we need to feel satisfied and fulfilled? If we as a global family can grasp the fact there is more to life than having more and more and realise that life its self is the greatest opportunity and a blessing which far exceeds the amassing of power and money then all the pain and suffering which surrounds us at present might just be worth it. It comes down to each individual finding our own new way or path in their approach to life. Testing times indeed, and if we are out of work and over our heads in debt not an easy thing to have gratitude for having this life. However here we are and we are likely all culpable for where we find ourselves. Spring is traditionally a time for sowing seeds and now more than ever before is an opportune time for sowing our own seeds of change in the hope of harvesting a more fruitful future for ourselves.
